You can test the resistance of the coil with a multimeter - no idea what it should be off the top of my head as I have a few and usually just swap for a known good one smile

You need to check both the primary (positive to king lead connector) and the secondary (king lead to negative) coils smile

**EDIT** I assume you've already done the hold a spark plug connected to the ht lead near a tinware screw open the points with a screwdriver to see if you get a spark test?

Re: Coil ?

Could be breaking down when hot (common fault) so keep an eye on it.

Re: Coil ?

You could find an auto electricians and get them to do a full test on it but it may just be cheaper to buy a spare and carry it with you.

Time for a new one! you might have to replace the condenser as well.  (o\!/o)
