Re: my 66 bug

Hey Si,

Good to catch up yesterday and thanks for taking me for a spin, those new Suzuki pipes sure do sound great.

Also thanks for the bits, unfortunately in my haste I didn't really look at the exhaust silencer properly and discovered when I returned home it won't fit. I will return it to you next weekend if you're in so you can chuck it on ebay or something.

Nice new pic's too.

Cheers,

Rich.

Re: my 66 bug

MOT station could get ''funny'' with the lack of pas seat if the runners are there.

Re: my 66 bug

Si, I tried to call that number today and all I got was the number has not been recognised.  Can you check the number or let me know the shop name so that I can look into it please?
Thanks

I shall see how money is at that time of year but that price is good.  I will have to check with him closer to the time.

Re: my 66 bug

I have wanted some of these since Cleverchap fitted a system to his bus and I saw how good it is.  As the bug is my main car I do drive at night and to be honest, even with Halogens, there is a lot to be desired.  The main beam is ok but dip is pretty pathetic.
I seem to recall that Clever paid a lot more for his system and I have been hoping that a cheaper model would be available soon.

yeah really good bit of kit and to be honest Bea it looks a lot like the kit clever bought. I think he paid about £125 but that was a bout 2-3 years ago.

Re: my 66 bug

I dont do a lot of night driving but coming back from the meets I have sometimes had to use main beam and still not been flashed by anyone for them being too bright.
They should be due in next weekend or there abouts and I shall have a root around for some cash and then have a play.

Re: my 66 bug

started rubbing the engine bay & above the gearbox today. as getting access to the spark
plugs is a major task with twin 44's fitted i have cut part of the inner wing out. i'm going to make up a pair of covers that will be screwed on (think hookey's do one) which will make life alot easier.
i'll strengthen inside the inner wing/firewall area etc.

Re: my 66 bug

I use the beam diagram in a haynes manual. If you have a level surface that's near a wall or garage door, mark the beam pattern on the wall/door. I've used this method with success, failing that, slip the tester a fiver to adrust them on there machine! lol

Re: my 66 bug

I have used that wall method where you should be 12 foot away from the wall and the mark should be at about knee height but I had them properly adjusted when I had the MOT done some years back and they were fine at the last MOT.  I think I am just dropping current to them.
Anyway, the HID kit is the way forward I think.

Re: my 66 bug

Regarding the heter tubes, will you be around and about sometime on Friday afternoon for me to come and have a look at them with regards buying them from you?  Regarding the HID kits, has your contact in Exmouth got them in yet?
Thanks in advance.
